This is the web home for the handheld-music community.
Handheld-music is a catch all phrase to describe anything that produces or manipulates sound in a small, portable form factor. The current state of technology coupled with the advent of good user interfaces and ergonomics can only be good news for performing and composing musicians around the world. We hope to capitalize on the latest small technologies using mostly homebrewn-for-now solutions.
The H-m list is currently composed of developers and other interested parties. The most popular platform at the moment is the Palm Pilot, due to its large user base and easily accessible serial port for MIDI adaptation. For only ten dollars you too can be set up with a Palm MIDI device (assuming you already have a Palm) that can be a hardware sequencer, an effects controller, or even a Theremin.
However, we are not limited to just the Palm Pilot. Other platforms are surely welcome.
